A few words about us…

Beautiful nature, surrounded by river, sea and few small villages, still unknown at the kiteboarding world map. It is the place where the river Neretva enters the Adriatic sea. This kiss of river and sea provided the area with a sandy beach and shallow water.
The spot is well placed and is good for almost all winds that blow in the Adriatic sea, but the preferred wind is constant wind called “maestral” that blows from NW. It blows from 10-25knots and it is always followed by plenty of sunshine. The water at the spot is shallow and flat. If you get further out you will find some small waves, not bigger than 0,5m. Since this is a rural place plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables are at everyday disposal.

How to become a kitesurfer?

Kiter Neretva

Unlike windsurfing, kitesurfing is a slightly more dangerous sport and it is mandatory to learn kitesurfinh in quality centers with licensed quality instructors, who will first warn you that the powerful forces of the kite should not be underestimated.

Kitesurfing is a relatively new sport in our area, and the Neretva valley has become a real paradise for kitesurfing in Croatia. A sport that is a combination of paragliding, snowboarding, and windsurfing, it provides maximum enjoyment of riding on the surface of the water and in large jumps, giving the viewers an impressive picture.
Particular enthusiasm for the kitesurfing in Neretva is shown by the kiters from Hungary and Slovenia, which are arriving more and more in this area year after year. So the guys from Slovenia, who also rode the coast of Brazil, consider that the Neretva estuary is a much better place for this sport than any Brazilian beach. In the valley of the Neretva, ‘maestral’ or ‘tramuntana’ winds blow every day, which is perfect for this sport. And the large shallow water at the mouth of this river is suitable for beginner kitesurfers.
Next time, do not close at home, but head to the Neretva kitesurfing spot to see the masters in action … And maybe you will fall in love at first sight and become part of the kitesurfing team that is in the pursuit of adrenaline in this sport.
One of the best kitesurfing centers in the Adriatic is certainly the Neretva estuary. The center, which also offers a kite school, is equipped with the latest kites in sizes from 2 squares to 15 squares.
When choosing equipment, your weight and the conditions you plan to drive are taken into account. Example: You are about 80 kg and you plan to ride on the summer ‘maestral’, with winds of 12 to 18 knots, your choice will be kites of size 12-13 squares and boards measuring approximately 138 x 41.
Normally if you are heavier all the dimensions increase proportionally.
Buying kite equipment is, in terms of choosing the size of the equipment simpler than windsurfing, while on the other hand the differences in handling and product quality are drastically changing from manufacturer to manufacturer.
